"If we want to transform our lives, it is critical that we truly understand the impact our words have. Our words can limit our potential, keep us "stuck" in our circumstances, or transform our lives for the better. Habitual negative self-talk creates limiting beliefs, which can hold us back for years until we become aware of it and work to change it. This is because the words we speak really become labels that we are putting on ourselves or our situations. Positive self-talk can truly help us find new levels of freedom in our situations."
"....Another key method to changing your negative self-talk is replacing your negative statements immediately with accurate positive ones. This method is not denial---life can be very painful and challenging at times, and it is never good to live in denial---but when our words are negative, we tend to stop looking for answers to our problems or trials, which only hinders us more. So immediately changing negative statements into true and positive statements, and believing what you say, is key to keep you moving forward."
